NVH Engineered Components

Noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) forms an important part of the design brief in the modern vehicle. Tuftane TPU films combined with other materials provide sound deadening and absorption components to make the driver's experience more comfortable.

Thin gauge Tuftane TPU films laminated using heat or adhesive to soft PU foam are used for sound isolation. Applications include thermoformed interior door panels, seating in-fills, acoustic and thermal insulation covers for engine bays, fuel tank pads, wheel arch liners, carpet and mat systems, etc.

Drive-Dynamic Seat Systems

Tuftane TPU films offer very low permeability and excellent puncture resistance when used in pneumatic comfort systems that are integrated within car seats providing adjustable air inflated support for the lumbar, back, seat, neck head and thighs.

Headliners and Interior Trim Components

Tuftane TPU films bond face fabric with nonwoven or foam backing for headliners and A,B,C, and D, pillars in various vehicle types.

In this application Tuftane TPU films offer excellent adhesive strength combined with thermoformability, and resistance to degradation when exposed to heat and humidity variations over long time periods of time.

Foam-In-Place (FIP) Processing

Foam deposited on the back of a fabric laminated with Tuftane TPU film which is used as a barrier to prevent liquid foam passing into the textile, while bonding the fabric with a good fit to the cured foam. Tuftane TPU film also acts as a moisture barrier in the finished component.

Components are vacuum formed allowing vehicle designers to improve the comfort and ergonomics of the vehicle interior by stylish sculpting of areas including seats, head rests and arm rests.
